Rent a car from local companies across the Balkans

RentBalkans is a car rental platform where you compare and book cars from licensed local rental companies in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Türkiye. You sign the rental contract directly with the local company at pickup; RentBalkans handles the booking, the prepayment and communication.

Choose the pickup country and dates, compare cars in the list, pick cover and extras, enter the driver details and pay the small prepayment by card. Your voucher is emailed to you; you pay the rest to the rental company at pickup.

The rental price and mandatory third-party insurance are included. Choices such as full cover, an additional driver, child seats, cross-border permission and one-way drop-off are shown as separate lines and in the total before you pay. There are no hidden fees; the fuel and mileage policy is on every car page.

To confirm the booking you pay a small prepayment online by card; the amount is shown on every offer and before you pay, and updates with the protection and extras you choose. This is the RentBalkans service fee. The rest and the deposit are paid to the rental company at pickup. Instalments are only available for TRY rentals in Türkiye with Turkish-issued cards.

The deposit is held on your card at pickup (some companies accept cash; see the car page) and released when the car is returned without issues.

Yes. Some companies accept the deposit in cash or by debit card, or take no deposit at all. Use the "No credit card needed" filter; the deposit method is shown on every car page. Any debit or credit card can be used for the prepayment.

Mandatory third-party insurance is included in every rental. Full cover is optional; it lowers the excess you pay if there is damage and, with most companies, the deposit at pickup. You see its price and coverage in the first booking step and can add it if you wish.

Only to the countries allowed on the car page. Cross-border permission (Green Card) is issued by the rental company; any fee is shown in the price. Cars rented in Türkiye cannot leave the country.

Yes, if the company offers it. Choose "Different location" in search to list only cars with this option; the one-way fee is shown in the total before you pay. To drop off in another country the car also needs cross-border permission for that country.

If you cancel at least 48 hours before pickup (7 days for premium, luxury and minivans), the full prepayment is refunded to the same card in the same currency. Later cancellations and no-shows are not refunded. The period is shown on every offer and before you pay.

You must have held your licence for at least 1–2 years (depends on the car). An International Driving Permit may be required for non-Latin licences; requirements are shown on each car page.

Every company on the platform uploads its trade registry, tax and insurance documents; its cars are not published until RentBalkans approves them. Each company's rating comes only from reviews by customers who actually rented.
